When a small group of British manufacturers banded together on a mission to support home grown industry and help people buy British, we were keen to add our own brand of British design to the campaign.

Our brief was to create a simple endorsement that the public would recognise and companies would embrace, to signal a balance of flamboyance, practicality, heritage and modernity. The Made in Britain marque aims to evoke the innovation, intelligence, wit and understated elegance inherent in British design and manufacturing.

A segment of the Union Jack was taken as the main inspiration, forming an arrow to point to the British product on display. Not only can the arrow rotate but also there is also no fixed colour scheme, making the marque flexible and adaptable to any product or brand.

The marque is a subtle catalyst for buying British that reminds everyone of the heritage and quality of British design.

The response to the new Made in Britain marque has been overwhelmingly positive and has put the importance of British design and manufacture firmly back on the agenda. The marque is now being proudly used by over 1,000 British manufacturers, at home and overseas.
